I was hand-selected for this commission because of my playful, bold artistic style, which matched the personality of both the wine and the subject of the installation.
The Snoop-inspired homage features the entertainer standing in a sea of abstract shapes, representing the Pacific ocean, while a set of speakers are gathered together like grapes, reflecting Snoop’s dual role as musician and winery partner. A painted canvas backdrop steals inspiration from the 19 Crimes label, and the piece is emblazoned with Snoop’s signature. The entire installation sits atop a wooden base in the shape of the state of California which illuminates hundreds of Cali Red wine corks.

19 Crimes Cali Red features 5 unique faces emblazoned on the corks of the bottles and I had to feature this variety in my sculpture.
Fabrication was done in house with the help from Francis of Lucas Coatings, and overseen by our very helpful supervisor.
