Sled Island Gig Posters

I was elated with an invitation to create a poster twice for the Sled Island Poster Show. The artist I was assigned was Jessica Pratt, she sounds like she’s reciting some old incantations in an isolated tower overlooking the sea. I was inspired by the organic nature of her music so I chose to represent that with the foliage intertwined with the type and her portrait.

The second poster was created for an artist (who remains unnamed) whos experimental music folky acoustic drones and piano-driven requiems contains a stillness in the tonality of the songs, but a great deal of movement in their lyricism. I took inspiration from this an drew a lonely scene, to try and reflect the same tone of the music. Due to an administration error, the poster was never screenprinted.
