Artist Bio
My name is Tyler Lemermeyer and I have been working as a freelance illustrator and muralist since 2010 operating out of my humble home studio in Calgary, Alberta.
My style is ever evolving in the process of seeking the perfect balance between abstraction and realism. With each project I work with a restricted and vibrant colour palette to create a final product that is both playful and bold. When I create murals I often aim to relate to the community that they are in through use of subject matter while exploring my visual style. Since my murals are often in a public space, I strive to make the content accessible to the viewers by creating visuals which are easy to understand, or are playful in nature.
A plethora of paint markers & a sketchbook are never far away. In them I draw inspiration from the world around me, documenting my environments and life experiences.
Over the past 4 years I have had the opportunity to create many murals including last years VIVID project (19 in total). These projects all varied in size and application, but have provided me with an experience level of experience when it comes to creating art in the public rhelm.
I look forward to future opportunities where I can make art accessible to the public and hope to encourage people to spark conversations that might lead to a change in perception.
