NIGHT LIFE

This piece is a continuation of my series Fragments & Echoes where I explore nostalgia, joy, and self-exploration by capturing overlooked spaces, landscapes, and ideas extracted from old sketchbooks. My work blends emotional resonance with chaotic energy, transforming mundane elements into vibrant, fragmented compositions that are intended to evoke a sense of memory and place. . It was commissioned by Carmen Hamm and presented to UNA as a gift when the store originally opened.
In this piece you first see A gin martini and a whisky sour serve as a direct nod to the moments of camaraderie and the rich, layered experiences of nightlife. They represent the small but significant rituals of gathering with friends, celebrating the simple act of being present with one another. The roadways depicted in this piece are intentionally left open to interpretation. For some, they might evoke the winding paths we take in our lives; for others, they could symbolize the journey that follows after a night of meaningful shared moments. The drink chits, embedded into the piece, add a textured, tangible link to the restaurant itself, grounding the painting in the very space where such moments unfold.
Should you like the piece and wish to commission a work for your own space, please reach out, and we can discuss how to create the perfect piece to fit into your life. You can also see the online collection of my work here. Enjoy your time at UNA!
